Suggestion: Add carbon as a resource

Carbon could be taken from trees, mined from deposits and harvested from killed animals, and it could be used as additional fuel required for the survival kit and medical room- it would make sense to have them patch wounds of a carbon based lifeform using carbon.

More importantly, a coal plant could be added as a very low tech starter energy source, that would be inefficient but easy to "bruteforce" tons of power out of by burning more coal. A furnace like that could also produce smoke, which would require one or more exhausts connected with conveyors, as both a visual indicator of the furnace running and it's load, and also a light challenge that comes with using this engine

Additionally, carbon fiber could be added as a component for some new parts, but that's not the focus of this suggestion.

This would also add the need to come up with new mechanisms to harvest carbon, like tree cutting machines or Saberoid grinders, giving the players more fun tasks to consider as an alternative to mining

Maybe gravel could be burned to energy in a 'gravel plant'

CO2, dry ice, polymers, nanotech, cloth for spacesuits, sails and balloons, composites, industrial diamonds, solvents, resource for making medkits, bio reactor brewing, electrodes, grinding disks: all good carbon stuff.
