This would have been possible before Apple went to their own silicon. The M1 series is not powerful enough to properly handle Space Engineers and they would have to completely refactor their code for it because it's a different architecture, not just a different operating system. Despite what Apple tries to sell, the M1 chips are NOT as powerful as the older X86/64 chips they used to use.

This is simply not true. Space Engineers already runs on Macs over emulation (Apple Game Porting Toolkit) or virtualisation (Parallels), where you have a not insignificant performance loss because of it.

According to notebookcheck (and also other sources) the M1 Pro GPU is comparable with a GTX 1660 Ti (Max-Q), which would be way above the SE minimum requirements.

I agree that Mac gamers make up just a portion of the broader gaming community. In that case, it would be a bit exaggerated to develop a MacOS port. But it would be at least nice if Keen could make an ARM version or at least a GPT compatible version so I don’t have to simulate Windows to run SE :)
