[Automatons Beta] Event Controller - Piston threshold in Meters not Percent

As it is right now with the threshold measured in percent it requires me to do the math everytime I want it to trigger an action when the piston reaches a certain length in meters.

Hinges are measured in angles, not percent.

Analog should piston threshold be measured in meters (float).

Is it that hard to do the math of breaking 10 meters into percentage?

Ok look..

The piston moves 10 meters.

If you want it to move 5 meters, that's 50%

If you want it to move 7.5 meters, That's 75%

if you want it to move 8.2 meters, that's 82%

Are you seeing a pattern?

ok.. Look....

Each meter is 10%.

see how the numbers are kind of the same?

like... 3 meters 30%. 4 meters is 40% 5 meters is 50%

Once you get the hang of it, it comes pretty quick. I'm sure you'll get it soon enough if you work at it.

*PRO TIP

Each block is 2.5 meters, and therefor 25%

2 blocks is 50%

3 blocks is 75%

4 blocks is 100% (maximum)

Haha, wait until you Americans hear about the metric system.. It's gonna BLOW your minds!!!

I'm using stacked pistons for elevators. Doing the math for one piston is obviously trivial. This changes if you add and remove pistons on top of pistons. Btw, I grew up with the metric system, smartass.

It's worse than that.

The percentage calculated is of the maximum distance setting.

So if it's set to 5m max, then 2.5m current position is 50%

If maximum is set to 0m, then current position is NaN <--- very, very bad

If maximum is changed, then the percentage changes; even though the piston has not moved.
