Automaton Feature Request: Lead

I am enjoying the beta and the follow option but I would really like a Lead option.
Lead would work similarly to a dog. you go to move in a direction and the dog runs ahead. Lead would work the same as follow but would always try to stay that distance ahead of the target.
There are a number of situations where it would be nice to have the drone proceed me with lights or drills or whatever is needed.
