Idea for Ship Building:

I've noticed the huge increase in blocks available for armor and its getting to the point where it is nice to have the variety, but its also so clunky trying to find the exact one you need.

The Idea I propose is an overhaul of the building mechanics. Instead of just blocks it would function as a grid / wire frame system. The player would have access to a few basic primitive parts (A cube, a square panel, and a few others) as well as the other conveyors and industrial parts which would be unchanged. To build the structural armor, it would be as simple as finding a node on an existing block, selecting it, and another node in 3d space thus creating a singular bar. Creating a closed area from bars will make a rough panel and a closed area will make a solid (Based on existing objects blocking the way).

This would simplify and speed up building tenfold as it provides the same if not greater flexibility than what currently exists.

An alternative idea is using all the existing blocks and being able to create custom blocks on the spot or find the block you need by selecting what points on the cube you want filled.
