Target Locking from Remote Control Blocks

I just discovered today that it's not possible to do target locks from a Remote Control block. This seems really limiting because there's frequently good reason to have a central remote control block in a ship that may be controlled from any number of seats in the same ship. It's almost essential if you sub-grid your pilot seat.
The ship I'm currently building has the main pilot seat mounted on a hinge, and then flight control is established through the remote block. Without target locking from a remote block I can't pass targets to my turrets or get lead indicators for my rail guns.
