Hydrogen/Gas system Rework

Current hydrogen system can get very performance intensive.

Could it be streamlined to only checking thruster connectivity to a conveyor system when the grid updates?

Could fuel consumption in each axis be determined by poll of all thrusters in a given direction done once when grid updated, and stored in grid "memory"

Similarly, could total gas storage be a one time poll of grid blocks done when grid updates, then stored.

I feel like these steps could greatly improve game performance when hydrogen, or fuel based thrusters are used.

2nd, could gas system be reworked to allow modders to make alternate gasses that can be used in parallel with h2 and o2, without having gasses be treated AS h2 or o2? For example, a way to pipe liquid water or steam around?

3rd, could material conversion system be adjusted to allow fluids to be used in assembler, or in weapons? for example, a flamethrower and/or water hose? Or making concrete from water (not ice) and gravel.

i can see gas and the use of gas as the next side of building and exploring the next big thing. go into a gas nebula it kills sight and signals. have some new gas collector. or need a multi block gas giant rig. a new assembler / refinery just for gas. that then would go to lasers (like the ones we all ready have nothing super out there) into a better power source. or make coolant and then have heat matter. point is a gas rework can set up the next big part of the game.
