Vehicle HUD or vanilla script

This has to be a common request but can we please have a vanilla option to display total battery charge? I understand that the current display that shows an effective drain rate or load on the grid is helpful but often times I just want to see at a quick glance what my total storage percentage is. A script to display this info (and even hydrogen and oxygen) on lcds would help display info on stations.
