DLC Engineering?

- Tools now have their durability, which decreases

during use. More advanced tools have

higher strength. Strength of the selected tool

displayed in HUD (current and maximum).

* - If the strength of the tool falls below 25%, then its

application characteristics deteriorate by 2 times.

Now the player at the start of the game in the survival capsule does not have a basic assembler

and standard tools!

(This is a toggle option).

But the player will be able to assemble a workbench.

Crafting table. This is an iron table with tools. What can he do and what is he needed for?

It allows you to manually collect items without using electricity.

But it does it 2 - 4 times slower than the base collector. Plus items

need to be collected by hand, i.e. you need to hold down the key to craft items,

or press a special button in the menu without stopping.

The workbench also helps to repair tools (restoring their durability).

- The workbench has a system of modules (by analogy with assemblers), but unlike them, it is

micromodules that expand its capabilities:

1) Vise (accelerate crafting).

2) Engineering blade (additionally increases the strength of the made tools).

3) Oven (reduces the need for materials).

4) Additional lockers (expands the internal inventory of the workbench).

5) Overhead lighting (just decorative).

* - The workbench can be painted like other buildings.

* - Animation of a 3d model of an engineer during crafting in a workbench (doing something at the table).

New tools that are replaced at the start: welder, cutter, drill:

1) A set of builder tools (case with a hammer and screwdrivers), is a replacement for the welder

at the start of the game, does not require electricity to work. Can be equipped in hand

has its own model and animation (tapping a hammer and twisting a screwdriver). The same set

you can disassemble buildings.

Construction and dismantling is 2-4 times slower than with a welder and a cutter

respectively.

2) Shovel. It is a replacement for the drill at the start, does not require electricity

during work, but digs 2 times slower.

3) Pickaxe. It is a replacement for a drill at the start, does not require electricity

during work, but digs 2 times slower.

* - What is the difference between a shovel and a pickaxe? The parameter has been introduced to all planets

the density of the substance, the deeper underground, the denser the sand (you can tie

density multiplier to the height above the planet), as well as ore.

This means that the longer it will take to dig sand or ore at great depths.

The shovel is only suitable for the surface (because the soil is soft there). Pickaxe suitable for

great depths, as well as for stones on the surface, which have an increased density.

The stones on the surface are a separate object, as far as I know, therefore of great difficulty

shouldn't call.

* - An engineer without a shovel is nonsense. Let's make it!

* - If you use a shovel with the right mouse button, it will pour out

soil from the inventory and thus layering the soil (this can be used

for different purposes in terms of local terraforming).

* - Later the player will be able to collect vanilla tools.

Screws / bolts (without them, you can no longer build buildings and tools).

Workbench, different tools - this is love for an engineer. For a space engineer - doubly!

why do people want to do tool to damage? it makes no sense. irl tools last years. theres no reason to make them break always

I dunno, have you ever used stone drills or chisels and metal cutting wheels professionally, for hours, for days? Be glad that SE's only thing as far as non-endless use of tools is concerned is that they'll stop running when you're out of suit power.

That said, it sure would be an interesting game mechanic.
