Elevator/Rail + Photo concept

I kept thinking to myself that something like a rail or an elevator block would be very helpful to get from point 1 to 2. I build an elevator in almost every base but it never works so i had an idea and implemented it in a 3d program. I hope that maybe something like that will be added.
