collection meteor material and replacing it

I wish i could collect the meteor material somehow because drills cannot go through it. So it would become a wonderful protection if it is possible to place it to make a base safer.
Fact is, its not possible to mine the meteor material with machine drills, though its still possible to mine that manually.
