"There was an error while loading the world! Check the log file for information."

Solved

Hi, I am the creator of a workshop scenario called the Great Tarantula Race. It is on the front page of the workshop right now. Here is the link:

I don't know if this is an issue with players trying to connect with me in the game or not.

The Error that I get is:

"There was an error while loading the world! Check the log file for information."

I can connect fine with other players in any of the other scenarios or custom worlds, I haven't checked other workshop worlds though. I assume they work fine.

I also have not checked if other players can connect with each other in this scenario.

I have tried the usual things of deleting Shadercash and the config file and verifying the game files.

I can load the game fine in any of the modes such as offline, private, friends, public, or unlisted. Any of them works fine for a single player. But the issue is when I want to join someone else in the instance of one of the online modes and vice versa if they try to join my instance of the game. They get the error mentioned.

I will attach the log file. If anyone is able to connect to each others instance with the scenario then great! Then the issue is just with my computer, but I suppose it is with the scenario itself. An worse case I will start with a fresh star system and recreate the entire scenario.

Note that there is a mod involved, but it is a very simple mod I will next try to test the mod in a new star system separately to see if the issue is with the mod. But I don't think the mod is the culprit since it is a very basic mod that uses a prefab ship and a new antenna name spawn group.

But here is the link to that mod anyways:

See attached log file,

And thank you in advance, I know you guys have a lot of work and maybe this is not a high priority, so I really appreciate your help.

And thank you in advance.

I fixed it. I tested each file in the save game, splicing them with new saves that were not corrupted until I could figure out which file was corrupt. It ended up being the sandbox config file. So I replaced that file with one I created for a new world save. However, I imagine you might want to look into it to see what the issue is and what caused it.

I wanted the scenario to start so that players would be able to go to the spawn menu, but of course, if my character is in the world then that wouldn't work. I pressed backspace to kill my character, then press ok, and the character dies, then I pressed esc and exit the game. The prompt is to save the game. I press yes. Then after unloading the world, I went to the load menu, then edit save, and changed the game from creative mode to survival. I also changed three items in the advanced menu: Allow thruster damage; Weapons Enabled, And Distructible Blocks Enabled. Press Ok, and Ok again. Then Change the online mode to friends. Then Exit ed Space engineers changed the thumbnail. Then Launched the game and uploaded it to the workshop.

I hope this allows you to recreate the issue and find out what the problem was. And if the is a better way of removing my character from the game let me know. Thanks,

Jeshua

These are wonderful news! Happy to hear that your game is now working as expected and without issues.

Thank you for sharing the fix/workaround that worked for you in this as well. It might be useful to other players in the future should anyone have same/similar issue like you did.

Since there is nothing that we can help you further in this matter, I will close this thread now.
