large atmospheric thruster
Dear Developers / Support Team,
I'd like to raise some serious concerns about the current component requirements for the Large Atmospheric Thruster in Space Engineers. As of now, it takes 1100 motors to build a single thruster. That number is, quite frankly, absurd — even for late-game or high-tech builds.
At the moment, I'm trying to grind out resources for eight of these thrusters, which means I need 8,800 motors. That’s a ridiculous amount of materials and time investment for a single part of a functional ship. It severely limits creativity and practical ship design in Survival mode, especially for players who don’t want to spend hours just mining cobalt and building motors.
Please consider rebalancing the component cost to something more reasonable — perhaps between 250 and 400 motors per thruster. That would still make it a meaningful investment, but one that doesn’t feel like a punishment for wanting to build a large atmospheric ship.
This kind of adjustment would go a long way in improving the pacing and enjoyment of ship-building at scale.
Best regards,
I am not part of Keen. I don't think amount of motors bothers many players. The motors are made of iron ingots and nickel ingots, both of which can be made by refining stone. Mid-game I keep 5000+ motors around just to keep the assemblers doing something and its one of the easiest components to make.
