There has been a mod that adds hollow (ring) and disc rotors to the game, unfortunately its discontinued.

I loved those things, they're mighty useful!

Can they please be added to the vanilla game?

The biggest problem with the mod (as I understand it from a posted response from the author) is you can't build inside the ring as the model cannot be made with a hole in the middle. That's a SE limitation, not a mod limitation.

Yeah, it was the same with Arguals mod, you had to be more creative with getting blocks through it ;)

Tho with the hitbox change recently, I can imagine it not being an issue anymore? I mean you can place Hinge parts inbetween the hinge base and attach it withouth having to move the hinge part into place first.
