check "Hide Empty" in inventory screen
exit inventory screen
open inventory screen again
the "Hide Empty" checkbox is unchecked

Game already persists my selection of inventory.

Request: Persist also "Hide Empty" state.*

I see this feedback is from 2 years ago! I was about to file a suggestion on this. It is inconsistent that it persist other inventory settings and not this one. With XBOX this minor change goes a long way to save a lot of time clicking around. Obviously for PC it is less of an issue.
