Texture auto change Frozen/Dusty/Mossy - RUST
Submitted
Grid change texture when spend much time in certain condition.
Frozen planet = Frozen.
Green planet = Mossy.
Sand = Dusty.
You can repaint Or maybe make a cleaning/washing tool/gun but entire grid has a clock that changes it again after time. If it is not cleaned and time runs out in a loop lets say 3 times it changes texture to RUST.
(Clock tracking grid not individual blocks.)

Great idea, except I would rather these effects be applied on top of the existing armor (which means blocks will have a color and skin, plus the "environmental" skin). Otherwise, it's a bit odd to have say "high tech" skin turn to the default armor skin when it gets frosty.

YES! I SO agree!
Kinda makes no sense to have "frozen" or "dusty" armor blocks, they should indeed be a second layer on top of the actual block texture. I like OPs follow-up idea as well. Perhaps rust could then simply be repaired with the welder to restore it?
