Along with the new update, it is quite a shame that most of the rifles are no longer fully automatic, making them almost useless. I also dislike how the reload keeps you from firing in long bursts like the rifles previously did. Even though this may be more realistic, it was nice to be able to fire away with no disruptions as long as you had the ammo. Furthermore, the fact that I need individual ammo types for rifles is even more upsetting. Now I can't even use the same ammo for every rifle. I am happy with the recoil effects, pistol weapons and ammo, and rocket launcher though. Still, I would like to see the rifle brought to their previous firing settings and use the same ammo.

You are quite right that weapons firing in semi, burst and full auto can all use the same ammo type ( MP5 anyone? AK47? G36? All semi and full auto, or semi, burst & full auto without needing to change ammo type respective of platform ), there is zero need to have different ammunition as it only makes the production process and finding ammo for any given weapon far more hassle than it needs to be.

I also find the fact that all the rifles have the same model and are just painted different colours extremely lazy; at the very least model a shorter version of the rifle for semi-auto, and a longer version for full auto, with the current version being burst for example.


I really don't understand the thought process at Keen sometimes, it's like they want to make things more complicated than they need to be, but at the same time cut corners where just a little extra effort is required..

Rifles can still 5.56x45mm ammunition, but that ammunition is deprecated and cannot be assembled anymore. You can still spawn it from the cheat menu or use mods.

I agree with the different ammo problem but I believe that the reload mechanism should not be removed.
