I think OP is suggesting that our character should pose his/her body/arms/legs as humans 'automatically' do when falling, in order to minimize the impact.

Would be interesting to see what would you do in space suit. :)

judging by the behavior of the character, I would not give a shit to the spacesuit, since he would never be removed or would do it in a cryochamber.


When a person falls, he does something all the same - he changes position, waves his hands - trying to stabilize himself. This is the case when the engines do not work.

when a character comes off the block - he falls as a soldier.

A person falls on his left and right side and on his back if he goes back


You can also add icing ship trim.


When a character goes on the ice - this is a completely different animation.

I would simply be happy with some sort of rag doll after death. Instead of instant rigor mortise setting in.
