Ray tracing lighting/shadows

Hi,

with the newly anounced real time ray tracing lighting from nvidia would it be possible we see this feature in SE in the future. Since SE allready adapted to physics based rendering which apparently is required for the new tech it might not be too hard to implement. Right now only spot lights and the helmet light cast shadows so this could help improve the atmosphere in the game a lot especially on ships with lots of interior lights and make SE look even more amazing.

Yeah, even a non-performant RTX variant would be greatly appreciated =)

Would really love to see this now that I have a rig that can support RTX.

SE has so many emissive textures, especially the neon tubes, that this game would look pretty amazing.

Might also no longer need the "Space Just Got Real" skybox mod, as there'd be no need to cheese direct and bounce lighting to get a realistically lit ship/scene. Would also help with the incredibly annoying light bleed-through that happens where lights that should be occluded still light up blocks in the ship that face the light.

Also, isn't ray-tracing kinda already in the game, like how the cameras and turrets work for guided missile scripts? I know it's a bit different, but still... would love to see it. People already made a mod for SE in VR. Seems like way fewer people would have a VR setup than a RTX card.
