Keen lied about DLC only being for cosmetic.

This is the second time Keen has released functional blocks as part of the DLC and not just just the skins. I am not complaining about them updating their Current DLCs I'm talking about the fact they added new blocks to a new DLC. i will acknowledge this time the DLC price is not quite as bad still high though for a paid game. I am writing here this time because I don't want my rolled demoted on discord again but primarily because I want them to remember what they said and this hopefully won't be lost as fast and they usually will point us here instead of talking in the Discord about anything DLC related

(edit) leave a like so that keen knows we remember.

It is a reskin of the store block, with no extra functionality added. It is a stretch, but reskins like this still fall under "cosmetic" imo.

That's like saying the half armor blocks are just cosmetic because there is already something that does the same. The atmosphere and vending machine is are just half block equivalents of the store. Which is important for compact trade ships/rovers. What you did is the same as you did with the industrial cockpit. Making it a you can only make this kind of ship/ rover if you paid. This was just a money grab. I was hopeing keen had learned after the first try that the community is not just a bunch of idiots.

Are you all seriously complaining about this? You do realize they've updated several DLC packs with new content without raising the price of those DLCs. They could have made another DLC and added new stuff into there instead of updating previous DLCs but they didn't. They added more to those without raising prices. That said, they did add new blocks in an economy DLC, and while you can argue that should fall under cosmetics/decoration pack, bear in mind NOTHING IS FREE. How many countless hours do you think the devs spent working on the economy update only to release it for FREE?

Should you still find another $3.99 DLC outrageous, perhaps, KSH should shift from free updates to subscription based or paid? Or do you want them to spend countless hours, days, weeks, months, years brainstorming blocks and features, brainstorming functionalities, designing concept art, creating 3D renderings, coding them, balancing them, implementing them, re-balancing them based on feedback and then doing it over again for new content all for free?

Please remember designing a video game--especially a sandbox game with physics systems such as this--is extraordinarily difficult and time consuming and the developers are people too and NOTHING IS FREE.

***If there is no income from a video game then there is no incentive for a company to green light expansions, updates, fixes or any sort of work on the product.***

You are putting out an incorrect argument. Firstly, the game is awash with bugs, worse in fact after they released frostbyte. They have an obligation to have the game in a decent state, yet they are closing bugs as solved when they are not, and leaving incorrect error messages. Reference the 'your graphics card is overheating or the driver has crashed' message.

They have admitted on here that's not a correct message, and said they will contact nvidea about it. They marked it as solved and have not even changed the error message. That was 6 months ago.

Also take into consideration - the CEO put 10 million into his other project GoodAI, and said the success of SE enabled him to do this.

Clearly they had more than enough money to develop the base game further, and yet they charge for basic blocks like a toilet and tables. Something people have been asking for since day 1.

You do know that keen sales merchandise right? Also I was not complaining about the fact they added more content to existing DLCs as you can read above. And yes I know they need money for development. I'm not going to go into everything again but I can sum it up simply, if they say the DLCs are to be cosmetic only I expect them to stick to only cosmetic. DLCs are a slippery slope and SE has extremely high potential to be overrun by it.i personally find the DLCs a bit high in price for what you get (you can get entire games for that price) the most recent DLC justified the price more than the last. Until they once again hid blocks behind a paywall again. Do you fight so hard for EA aswell?

Summary I don't want keen to tern into another EA.

Also please note that keen has not sead anything to this concern as they almos always do. Witch is part of the problem. The last time I remember then brushing on the concern was when it was sead the DLCs were to be cosmetic only and you can see how that went.

While I understand your fears of KSH turning into another EA, please know that at this point in time and for this current subject that is a very weak comparison. First, EA is a massive, multi-million dollar company with hundreds of games to its name--a not insignificant amount of which either require subscription status to play, to have full benefits and be able to play beyond base game, or they require loot boxes (etc.) to progress in a realistic amount of time.

For this argument, we are talking about adding DLC blocks to Space Engineers with functions not unique to said DLC blocks--nor are these functions integral to game play. The only thing they add is cosmetic appearance and some add a minor amount of storage space that cannot be piped via conveyors. Others, such as the ATM and Vending Machine blocks mimick the abilities of base-game economy blocks, but simply deliver the functionality in a different cosmetic form.

While it may be true that these DLC blocks have functionality, it is a little ridiculous to say SE--a game fully functional with free updates and a massive modding community--will be overrun with optional DLCs that contribute nothing more to the base game than cosmetics (because any function they have already exists on another base-game block).

I'd just like to say I agree with frogboy 100% - this has only become worse in the latest warfare 2 update.

Can we just take a look at how toxic much of the community has become in defense of this behavior from keen.

In this thread its been proven clear as day many DLC 'cosmetic only' blocks are providing some kind of advantage and the community of players just refuse to understand where many of us are coming from.

There's nothing to defend, IMO. Keen can make and sell whatever they please. People do get salty about it, but they'll get salty about anything.
