Recenter 1st person camera automatically

Let camera snap back to center after configurable amount of time passed since you relased the "Hold to look around" key.

Having your 1st person camera point to somewhere which is not forward is disorienting.

Pressing the "First-person/Third-person" key twice to realign it is inconvenient.

Would be nice to have separate configurations for 1st and 3rd person view.

Please no. This will only lead to time to reset ALWAYS expiring at the most inopportune moment.

I propose this option as being configurable (as I mention in the first sentence). Therefore you should be able to disable it.

On a separate note, what in the world will make you use an off-centered first person camera?

It's fun to have more flexible view options when flying. You can fly through small gaps that you wouldn't fit through frontally, only heads-on, but with this function you can still look in the direction you're going.

I agree that readjusting your view in first person is cumbersome. I think it should be axed entirely, tbh. How is it useful to be able to tilt your head up and down when you're able to do it much faster in the usual way? Has anyone used it for something productive?

In cockpits you can also look to the left and right and I use that almost exclusively for docking with connectors to the left, below the cockpit. The up and down adjustment outside of a seat mostly gets in the way either accidentally or when you want to deposit material with Alt+MMB. The only time I know it does something useful is when remote controlling a vehicle and your character control is otherwise locked. Then you can at least look up and down to follow the controlled craft.
