The derelict ships/stations and the pirate bases/battleships were much more enjoyable than the current post survival update "mayday" stuff floating about. Having to fight off a battleship or plan an approach to a well defended base with really nice goodies or finding a derelict ship without wiving the location shown was a few of the things that made this game really good. Shouldn't have taken those things out.

Sorry i have to disagree the stuff that was taken out was outdated and two easy to take over.

In space all you had to do was travel 30km or so find a ship and you set for the hole game , in fact one of the easyer to find derelict ship Called the Starter Ship a red long looking ship had All Ion Thrusters and in it Cargo 500k of Uranium ingots Same also could be said about the other ship you can find two. this why i also revamped the old stuff for a mod.

don't get me wrong i like them but where OP for the most part.

They could have just added more weapons to them and derelict ships were already a pain to find anyhow. As far as the new configuration......it's even easier. I've already captured a lot of ships and combined them without having to mine for any minerals at all and I started in a space capsule...…..

I like the idea of derelict ships and maybe the occasional carrier that spawns an ungodly amount of tiny drones to attack you when you get too close, kinda like the movers from homeworld 2. And some have a pirate already there grinding it down you have to fight with. And the rest have a chance of having some small land mines in them.

But for balancing all the normal derelict objects should just mostly be armor with few creates.

I dont think derelict ships should be a big pay off but still be just worth it to try get them over mining, keep the game interesting.

There is a certain allure to old pirate ships, cargo vessels, and derelict ships that sparks the imagination and evokes a sense of adventure. These types of ships offer a glimpse into a bygone era of seafaring and have captured the interest of historians, maritime enthusiasts, and even Hollywood filmmakers. The mystery and intrigue surrounding abandoned ships that have been left to weather the elements and slowly decay over time only adds to their appeal. While there are many museums and exhibits dedicated to preserving these vessels, there is a growing call to bring some of these ships back into service, either as historical artifacts or as a nod to a romanticized past.
