Save Files "Lost"
Submitted
Tried to play SE1 today. No saved games. No Continue game. Just an empty list.
Looked at my save game folder. It has created a new folder for me today. I copied all of my old save folder info to my new save folder, and it's fine now... but really... like. It should never do that.
Also the new folder name looks like a default... so IDK how long it'll be before I have to copy them somewhere else....
Here's a screen shot of the file names:

So apparently this happens when steam is offline.
If steam is offline, and you do not know how to go to the file system and copy your files over... you cannot play any of your games that you saved ON YOUR MACHINE.
I know this is probably a Steam thing, and not an SE thing, but if you can tell them to fix it, that would be great.
It's an unreasonable burden for most people.

Hello Engineer,
Thank you for reaching out on our forum with this.
While you're not wrong, but this isn't really a bug. When Steam is running in Offline Mode, it provides a different user ID to the game. As a result, Space Engineers creates a new save folder, and your existing saves won't appear until they are copied into the newly created folder.
We understand that this can be confusing and inconvenient, especially since the original save files are still present on your machine. However, this is simply how Steam behaves when operating in Offline Mode.
That said, we understand your concerns, and to ensure your feedback is properly reviewed by our programmers and designers, we'll be moving this thread to the Feedback section of the forum, where suggestions and improvement ideas are collected for future consideration.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us make Space Engineers better.
Kind Regards,
