Beams were the same weight as armor?

I know this is stupid and nitpicky but I would like to see a change to convert beams to have a different build requirement and to be lighter in weight. They really shouldn't have the same weight as actual armor. I understand for structural stationary builds the weight doesn't really matter, but for ships... having a "lightweight" craft would be nice. And especially for those who are trying to build larger ships but are having weight issues. Thank you for reading my rambling, I have many more ideas that I would like to speak about and I hope this comment will inspire more ideas
