Status Indicators and Toggle Feedback on Cockpit/Ship Toolbars
Currently, when assigning blocks or groups to the cockpit toolbar, we can toggle functions on and off, but the icon in the toolbar provides no visual feedback regarding the current status. Flying without knowing whether a system is active or what its current load level is—is both extremely frustrating and dangerous for the ship.
In SE1, the community relied heavily on mods to address this issue. For SE2, this must be a core, vanilla feature.
We urgently need a small, dynamic text or color-coded indicator directly within the toolbar slots to display the current status of variable values—for example:
- On/Off status for blocks and groups
- Override % for thrusters
- Stiffness/strength % for wheels
- Speed % for rotors and hinges
Having this critical feedback directly in the toolbar is essential for situational awareness when operating a ship. Each slot should always display the value that can be adjusted via the corresponding action key.
