Persistant blueprint registered to grid
Currently, you can place a blueprint and start building it out. If you sever that blueprint grid to make a separate grid at any point, the remaining blueprint blocks become unattached to your new grid. Also, after your new grid takes damage, sometimes it hard to tell what got blown off and you have to redesign the area all over again. This can get excessive when you have complex armor designs.
I propose that we should be able to tag a blueprint as persistent when we initially place it. This will allow the blueprint blocks to attach to the grid so that if you take off with a half finished ship, the blueprint blocks travel with the ship. It is placing the block on the grid already, but in a zero mass state as the parts have not been welded on yet. It also allows the ship to remember these parts so you can toggle the blueprint on after an intense battle and quickly rebuild your ship with the area welder instead of having to use the build menu to place new blocks down. This would need an edit mode on the blueprint as well to accommodate redesigns. If you wanna scrap the ship, then turn off the persistent label from the main ship options where the ship name is listed.
With all the extra combat coming into the game now, and no repair modules that remember what that new hole in your ship used to be, this would make ship combat considerably more less and less tedious.
