Bring back stone refining for basic materials
Hi Keen team,While I really appreciate that extracting resources directly from the ground is already implemented, the current processing feels a bit too limited compared to Space Engineers 1.
In SE1, processing common stone yielded a combination of essential resources (iron, nickel, and silicon). This multi-resource yield was crucial for the gameplay loop: it allowed players to establish and develop permanent, static mining bases. Currently, the lack of this mechanic forces a purely nomadic playstyle, pushing players to constantly move around to hunt for each specific ore vein.
Furthermore, reintroducing this would give the Refinery its true purpose back. Right now, it acts more like a crafting station for items, whereas a refinery's core identity should be smelting raw materials and processing ore into ingots.
Allowing stone processing to yield multiple basic materials would make static base-building viable again, give the Refinery a meaningful role, and provide a much smoother progression.
Thanks for your hard work on the game!
