BUG REPORT: RS Aquila Loses All Propulsion Approximately 230 Metres from Vallation StationGame: Space Engineers 2

Ship: RS Aquila

Location: Approaching Vallation Station landing pad

Category: Hydrogen System / Thruster Failure

Severity: High — Ship becomes uncontrollable

DescriptionI am experiencing a repeatable issue with the RS Aquila where the hydrogen thrusters suddenly stop functioning when approaching the landing pad at Vallation Station.

The failure consistently occurs at approximately 200–250 metres from the station, most recently at 230 metres.

The ship operates normally before reaching this distance. I have approached the station at a low speed of approximately 10 m/s, but the same problem occurs.

When the failure happens, the cockpit and electrical systems remain operational, but the ship loses propulsion and continues drifting at a constant speed.

Symptoms

  • Multiple hydrogen thrusters change from green to red in the control panel.
  • Affected thrusters display "Block can't work — Block does not have enough resources."
  • The missing resource is identified as Hydrogen.
  • Affected thrusters show "Current Input: 0."
  • Hydrogen remains available in the ship's four tanks.
  • One tank showed 1,988 / 8,000 (25%) hydrogen after the failure.
  • The affected tank was operational and set to Auto, but showed "Current Output: 0."
  • The ship becomes unable to manoeuvre or safely land.

Troubleshooting Already Performed

  1. Confirmed hydrogen was available in the tanks.
  2. Checked that the hydrogen tanks were set to Auto.
  3. Tested changing tank operating modes.
  4. Switched hydrogen thrusters OFF and ON.
  5. Confirmed the thrusters were operational before approaching the station.
  6. Restarted Space Engineers 2 completely and reloaded the game.
  7. Repeated the station approach after restarting.
  8. Confirmed that the failure happened again at approximately 230 metres.
  9. Checked that the ship was not being held by locked landing gear.

None of these steps resolved the problem.

I have also used the Y key to switch ship power on and off, both while parked and during flight. I understand there have been reports of hydrogen consumption problems associated with this function, although I cannot confirm whether it is related.

Expected BehaviourThe hydrogen thrusters should continue receiving fuel from the ship's hydrogen tanks and remain operational while approaching Vallation Station.

Actual BehaviourThe thrusters stop receiving hydrogen before reaching the landing pad, despite hydrogen remaining aboard the ship.

The problem appears repeatable at approximately the same distance from the station.

Additional InformationThe RS Aquila has undergone repairs as part of the game's rebuilding objectives. The thrusters function normally during flight before the failure occurs.

The issue may be related to hydrogen distribution, abnormal hydrogen consumption, or a station-proximity-related game bug.

I can provide screenshots showing the red thruster indicators, hydrogen resource errors, and hydrogen remaining in the tanks.

Please investigate this issue, as it prevents me from safely landing and continuing gameplay.
