The current patch removes conveyors breaks existing saves

The patch notes say "Some features of this update will need a new game to be started / Will need new save to be visible (New Tutorial Stages, Locations & Contracts)" so I was not expecting to be required to start a new game, or to have blocks disappear.
However I have lost all conveyor tubes except the tiny large and small slices.
The contracts to re-unlock those items have not reappeared.
I really do not feel like redoing everything I've done again.
