Game crashing when entering specific door of my ship

Basically Title. Every time I enter my cockpit area of my ship from the front, i cant make it 2 steps past the interior door. However if i approach from the back of the ship, the game does not crash when entering cockpit. I have tried saving game before entering the ship and when exiting the control seat, as this seems to help somewhat.
Please address these crashes soon, i love this game and have over 1200 hours in SE1, and want to play and appreciate this game just as much. I'm struggling to find reasons to boot this up when I have to crash and reload 5 times before I can play for 15 minutes without it crashing again.
AMD 7900XT, Ryzen 5 5600x, 32gb RAM.
