Idea about Cable Blocks

Hi, I saw in the September 3rd Dev Diary post that you will add nice looking cable blocks to the game, which like written in the post will also "work" and transmit power.

In the screenshots I also thought it looks nice and will give bases and ships a more interesting look. I have one additional idea about this in my head which would be cool from a gamedesign pov.

I feel it would be very rewarding to have all electrical consumers cabled up with cable block- mostly visually. It would also be more difficult to design ships this way.

To really make this worth it, I think it might be a great incentive to have a system in place that checks, whether there is a connection between power provider blocks and consumers via cables- and if that is the case, to make the consumers work a little more efficient as long as connected.

Maybe a 15-20% reduction in power usage or same power usage but higher thrust or processing speed or whatever. Thin would 'offset' the more complicated design and give players a good reason to use cable blocks and also it might even open more gameplay opportunities.

Could be that some npc freighters in atmosphere have cables and their thrust calibrated that they can fly 'just so' when loaded- would make it interesting to try to jump aboard with jetpack and cut the cables to have the ship drop down, because 15% thrust are now missing.

Anyways, would be curious what you guys think about that idea or maybe already had it yourself?

Best regards
