Piston - Reverse Velocity in cockpit controls resetting Piston Velocity

I have rebuilt my rotating, piston-driven mining ship. See screenshot.
As you can see from the video, I set the piston velocity to a nice slow -0.01 so when I reversed the value, it would slowly extend and grind down whatever ore that I was mining. Iron in this current round.
Manually entering 0.01 worked fine, and slowly extended the piston.
However, when I used the Reverse Velocity command from the cockpit, the Piston Velocity was reset to -1.0, much too fast for this purpose.

I would prefer Reverse Velocity not to change the value once I set it, just change it from positive to negative and back.
Hopefully this is already in the plan to fix later, but just thought I should report it.
