Cargo - Giving Barrels and crates value.

I really like the idea of having a cargo hold that you can walk in to and that is full of crates, barrels, and ingot shelves.

Now obviously the problem with that is that we need conveyor ports to connect to the cargo container. If we had walk-in cargo containers full of loose barrels, crates, and ingots shelves to store everything, running a ship would be impractical. We need the automated conveyor movement cargo containers give us.

So how about this:

1. Barrels and crates should be able to carry slightly more stuff than a cargo container and have a lower weight to storage ratio. The ingame lore rationale: The normal cargo containers need space and mass for whatever it is that automatically takes resources and moves them into conveyors. Barrels and crates don't need a machine to move items from the cargo container to the conveyor port.

2. Make crates and barrels able to be carried by the player - so you can manually load extra supplies on to your ship for extra long journeys.

So ultimately the cargo container is still the proferred method of storage in most situations but for small ships, the player may be extra conscious of weight restrictions and carry most cargo in crates and barrels. Alternatively, the main cargo container may be full - and so they can carry a barrel and/or container on board.
