NPC's that help you out

I really would love the idea when NPC's are ready, that you can decide very early in the beginning if you get an AI companion or NPC for company.

Why?

Since this game already requires a grafics card of the modern tiers it could run a lokal ai model trained with the game data. Very rudimental but enough to analyse player request and ask itself if compute is needed or if the normal NPC "AI" can keep on. If the player asks the NPC something like "Hey.. why is this not working..." the local model then looks semanticly through a guidebook in the code for the ai which also acts as a manual for the player, like a wiki people could read if they didnt enjoy videos much more and checks the grid from the very code and running skripts etc for the issue the player is describing. As soon as the model came to a conclusion the NPC talks to the player about the problem, hopw it should or can be solved.

A Setup like this would be so beneficial. As someone who never wrote skripts for example but allways wanted to could be guided through this very well in a setup like this.

The local ai shouldnt be very advanced. It would be much more enjoyable if it can debug or analyse big structures and hand out the player an optimisation hologram/blueprint for example.

Normal NPC's could be much more enjoyable too if they have at least some semantic understanding of their surroundings (unauthorized NPC's should not be able to scan your grids and analyze them for obvious weakpoints reasons)

Like if NPC behaviour was ~25% or less semantic and 75% regular NPC skripts.... that would be so cool for atmosphere, random behaviour and trading. (And it should be deactivated on PC's without good performance or by the player themselves if they dont like it + small model like gemma4:e2b or even smaller)
