Played quite a bit of the latest update (the one with explosives) and have some thoughts

Missions are fun, but...Last night I delivered at least a half million credits worth of gold and lead to Palatine Station and was compensated 30,000 credits and access to an ore detector so large I'll never use it. Were this reality I'd have taken the 500,000 credits and purchased the tech for 30,000 IF I ever want it - screw the Almagest Redevelopment Authority! A properly-sized cargo ship would be a nice reward for this mission. You could make it available by spawning it at a nearby NPC base and making it a sub-mission (are sub-missions possible?) to go get it but I'm not sure how you can 'give' it to the player under those circumstances. (Although we did get a 'sledge' in the older version so it must be possible). It has to be something we can modify or it's mostly useless.

To deliver that ore, I needed a cargo ship. I don't love ship design so I tried my hand at stealing one. Turns out it was the type you find broken and on fire as 'Unknown Signal' all over the Verdure sector. It is the cargo ship that doesn't cargo. It's no wonder the pirates light them on fire and leave them behind. Might be a good cargo ship for a grocery run for a family of three. I couldn't even see a reasonable way of putting a bunch of cargo containers on it to make it useful.

It feels like Ice is more rare on the outer ring of Verdure and around Palatine than it is near Verdure. That's actually pretty cool! It makes logistics interesting.

A few glitchy things:

I fell through the matrix while hand-mining on Verdure. Scary stuff! Reverting to a save recovered for me but that was a real fun-sucker.

The auto-save feature needs to have it's own save name and not overwrite my last manual save.

There should be NO option to save your game when loading a save game. If we want to do that we can save the game, then load the game like a normal person would do. There is a reason we're trying to load that old save and whatever the reason is, it most likely has us clicking like a crazed chimpanzee on any ill-advised popup that presents itself, all while cursing at our screens with unholy, colorful vocabulary. Saving the wrecked game over the not-wrecked game and totally ruining everything is like throwing gasoline on a fire.

Move the orbital bases just a little more away from their planets' gravity fields. It's too easy to lose a cargo delivery by skirting too close to the gravity well whilst trying to approach the station. Pretty sure both Palatine Station and Verdure Station have killed me this way.

Those giant rocks the NPC bases spawn on sometimes are floating and sometimes are underground. I'm sure you're aware of it, but it's something to fix before Beta.

When mining, tiny, static chunks of rock get left behind and (I believe) they are causing mining ships to get hung up on them. At some diminished state they should just break off if struck by a player-owned object.

There's some weird funkiness going on with the ship controls when mining. The ship moves around as if uncontrolled. It was worse depending on the 'view' mode I was using but remember that crazed chimpanzee syndrome, I wasn't myself. At first I thought I needed more gyroscopes but that didn't seem to help. It's just a pain to deal with.

I designed a ship the way I would have in SE1, starting with a landing gear but once I started building the ship it floated away. Maybe I should be using a different method to anchor and build new ships but it would be a nice touch if landing gear would autolock when they're built so we can use them to build ships in this way. Connectors, too.

Love you guys! Don't take negative feedback in a bad way. Not many people will come to tell you about the joy they got from the parts that are done right. I've played for many hours and plan to play many more. That's positive enough, I hope?
