Hello Richard,

I could not reproduce this issue. Repairing damaged blocks correctly stops the smoke and fire particles. Could you please provide a video of your issue?

Additionally, have you tried verifying Game files through Steam?

Try using the field welder. Any time I’ve noticed this, it’s because the damage is to something behind the block.

Hello Engineers,

I could not reproduce this issue even with Area Welder. Could you please provide a video recording of this issue?

I ran into a similar problem. I attached the SaveGame. I crashed because my Miner (converted Grasshopper) was overloadet with iron. After i flew to base and connected to the connector i tried the repair but it didnt work.

I was about to remove the block completely but then thought i can send it here...

Main issue is that the Block shows "repaired" or "functional" but the texture is not right. It is still missing some parts of the visuals which have broken with the crash but youll see.

Maybe its because i run on Linux but my performance is not the best either

My specs are:

Ryzen 9 5900X

RX 9070 (non XT) 16GB

48GB RAM

Very often i slide below 60 fps using Proton 11.0

Like I said to the previous comment, usually this is because a block that connects the drill is what is "on fire" and may still smoke and be functional at the same time. So if your drill setup is like the bullfrog in the game, where there are blocks that are flush with the back of the drill, one of those blocks might be damaged, and can only be reached with the area welder to repair it. I've encountered this a few times before making the area welder, and have not seen it after doing repairs only with the area welder.

Basically what I'm saying is that it may look like the drill seems to "be on fire" when it could very well be something you just can't see/reach with the normal welder. If you have not built the area welder yet, try building it and then use it to repair "smoking" things.

As for how much of a bug I think this is, I think sometimes the game is showing smoke/flames deceptively, where a block is still completely functional and not showing in need of repair, but if you just randomly point at things with the normal welder you won't see the smoking thing as having damage.

Well at my grid there's nothing else to repair besides the drill. Nothing is smoking or damaged. Only the drill had this problem. I do not have the area welder yet so i could'nt check it anyway
