Thruster Operating visuals not working

I have found a visual bug with the Hydrogen and Ion thrusters when in use.
When using the thrusters, there is no flame outputs, only a tiny increase in brightness is seen for the idle state Sometimes I have the visuals when I load into my game, but then they disappear once I re-enter the cockpit or seat. The issue is with any grid, owned or NPC. In a stream, other people have said they have the same issue and connecting to a station has fixed it for them temporarily, but not me.
I have tried various graphic settings and validating game files

I have similar problems. Though the visuals usually are good for the first hour of game play. It's not until the game has been running for more than an hour before the thruster visuals disappear. They still provide thrust, just no visual flames/jets.

I can now add to this bug. The visuals are working from starting the game, however as soon as you enter the Map screen twice or spend a few seconds on it, the visuals will be disabled from then on. Still only get the "surrounding" light reflections
