Solid 2.5m armor blocks don't make sense with the unified grid

The Large armor blocks are a hangover from SE1 large grid design system. With the unified grid large armor blocks don't need to be solid. A NASA engineer would never send a solid block of material like these blocks into space we shouldn't be either.
I propose a shift toward a more realistic hull and structural support system for ship building to improve game balance and design option depth.
- Hollow panel style armor blocks: Large grid armor blocks (2.5 meters) should be hollowed out. I would like to see thin, panel-style armor blocks introduced (similar to the current window blocks). Armor values, component cost and block weights should be rebalanced around these thinner profiles.
- Matching Window Blocks: New window block variants should be added to perfectly match the shapes and angles of these new thin armor panels.
- Expanded Truss Blocks: The selection of truss blocks should be expanded. Players can then use trusses instead of heavy armor blocks for a ship's internal framing and structural support.
