Need better ore detection and mapping for planetary rings/asteroid belts
Situation I'm in
With v2.3 I have a Quick Start Survival game where I recently reached Kemik sector. The contracts there require mass production/gathering of products/resources. The planetary Ring with tons of asteroids is right outside so I searched for the next asteroid with basic building materials (ores) and set up small factory.
But I need more and different resources for the contracts. I need to find them on other asteroids and this gets annoying quickly:
Issues
- need to fly to each one close range and circle around due to the limited range of ore scanner (have not unlocked the large one yet)
- then need to remember: which asteroids hold what resource, which asteroid have I already scanned to not fly there again.
The only solution right now seems GPS marks. But this will clutter the HUD quickly and become annoying. Yea, I can hide the GPS marks when not in the area (grouping of GPS would be helpful) but I need them visible when in the asteroids to find my way around.
Proposal
I think the rings/belts need better tools to scan and map to make the asteroid gameplay fun. No idea tough what that could be, besides how some mods did this in SE1.
I think those should be improvements in Vanilla instead of mods due to rings/belts are also part of the base game in SE2.
