Fabricator visually unrepairable after being drilled by hand miner

If you damage the fabricator with the drill while clearing stone away, it begins to smoke. If you repair it, it does repair percentage-wise, but the visual is still in the damaged state. Only solution is to grind it down fully and completely rebuild it from scratch. Reproducible.
