Updated modding tutorial for custom player model

The current modding tutorial for changing your character model with a custom one is quite outdated and overall doesnt give enough information for most people on how to make a custom playermodel mod.
It would be great if this tutorial was updated with a clear and easier way to make such a mod.
For example, how do i bring a rigged blender character model to SE2 ?
