SE2 Interior decorations or added functionalities (Bridge)
Not Enough Votes
This is less so a detailed system or function. I wanted to take a moment to bring up some decorative options which I feel are necessary for SE2's building system and ships to feel real, and lived in. This thread being for the nerve center of whatever operation you may be enthralled in. While still keeping to the game's feel and SE1's lore.
Some things that I think may help:
- Ship map / master display (May impact performance / or not worth it)
- A central command / holotable (much like SE1's Console Block)
- consoles or some decorative blocks which can be coupled with the new LCDs to bring bridges to life. (Mainly a set of blocks much like the bridge console blocks from SE1)
- Holographic displays (possibly an iteration or evolution of SE1 holo displays which seemed to be in their infancy.)
- LCD displays which could even track nearby grids much like todays Radar, Power Expenditure, Grid Velocity, or even contract progress. A cool functionality of this being an interactive or dynamic map of Almagest.
As for purely decoration I still feel like certain avenues, at least broad categories or consoles should be brought into the vanilla game. So players don't need to bloat their mod lists with them. Especially if that player wants to play the game unmodded or publish a blueprint without a list of prerequisite mods.
