Objective 2 Produce component progression bug

Need More Information

In this second or 3rd mission depending on which one you start with after the Valiant station start the step where you are told to use the smelter and assembler to manufacture the components and move them to the inventory.

I placed the cobalt but didn't have the copper, starting the production on the 12 plates and 8 wires, when I came back and did the wires, taking them out updated the mission, but taking out the grids did not complete the objective,... I've tried to place it in the inventory and back out, to drop them and pick them back up and producing more simply didn't give me the objective completion so I welded the batteries with the 30 some plates from the cobalt patch entirely processed and in doing so completed the mission thus working around the Ui bug.... Its not one of those soft lock bugs and its not too bad to work around but yeah. Reporting it so that the game can be polished :) Though I've already made a similar report about being "disobedient" to the established path of the missions after you know what they required from doing them a few times... Doing steps before or after the PRECISELY established path yields misshaps, bugs and progression locks. This is just one of those mishaps in more details though I suspect this "bug" applies to all missions with multiple steps within each Ui changes of those contracts.

Hello Maxc_007,

Could you please provide a video or an image of your issue? The contract in question: Engineering - Manufacturing Facility does require any cobalt to be used, only Iron and Copper for creating Heavy Duty Plates and Wires plus Silicon, Nickel and Gold for the production blocks and I was able to complete this Contract without any issue.

As for the issues with Contracts when not following the established path - this is known and we are working on making the Contracts more sturdy.

Kind Regards,

I noticed this bug too. After you've produced the required amount of heavy duty plates, the next step is to pick them up into your inventory, but the contract doesn't progress to "fix the batteries" if you don't have ALL the components required to fix them, meaning you have to have the wires as well as heavy duty plates in your inventory. Once I picked up wires after already getting the plates, the contract progressed to the next step.

But I have to add that this specific contract sometimes just displays "text not loaded", at least right after accepting it and before heading to the location there's no information. And most recently in my newest "Classic Survival" playthrough started two days ago, this contract displayed only "text not loaded" at every step, so I had to complete it from memory only without instructions.

I moved past the problem after reporting it and finding a solution to the issue since that was not a soft lock... I don't have the will to go back on a new save just for testing that when you can dev mode it for yourself. I aint getting paid for this so... I don't see why i should go above and beyond sorry. At the end of the day I'm still playing the game for what it is I'm not the one that's responsible for making it better I can only give out experienced outcomes...

The issue should exist and surface anytime there is a mission demending the production of component and the player not doing everything at once and slowly trickling materials into blocks that have yet to be updated as needing welding because its on the next Ui....

Step 1. Go to the 2 contracts after the initial platform one.

Step2. Get almost all the materials but not enough to complete, so withdraw what you can and weld what you can

Step3. Gather more ressources and craft the rest.

Step4 where the issue exist. The UI can get bugged in this moment of tension in the coding where it won't update.

Step5 and the fix. You weld the item to completion because you know which one it was in advance that they wanted the materials for the next Ui indicator that is now missing.

You don't need a video if you understand your own game and the points of tension emerging because of coding and mechanics interacting outside of the intended scope and a screenshot wouldn't convey the information you want anyways outside of "proof its actually a bug with the materials in my inventory and the quest not updating"... If that's why you refuse to adresse it then tough luck I guess.

I had the same problem on mission... 2? Maybe 3? The one where you are tasked to weld a smelter, cargo hold, and assembler in a manufacturing bay, attaching picture.

I also have the bug where a mission marker won't go away.

I also found it strange that there's no in-game button for bug reports/feedback that automatically gives the developer a save file, screenshot, and log, and a text box for the player to type in the issue.

Every developer I know who has implemented such a feature has expressed regret that they did not do so sooner because it saved them a lot of time.

As for which mission I am reffering to. I am reffering to the one where you go to repair a bit of industry so you can repair 2 batteries. It will be either the second one or the third one you do, depending if you choose the other mission first or not that exists in the rank 2 of the contracts... If platform is considered rank 1.
