Introduction

In SE1 we have 2 rocket launcher which basically function the same. There is basically no difference in using any of those. It's just one is more expensive in survival and that's all. In game files the only difference in their behavior is <DeviateShotAngleAiming> value which I suppose makes shots more or less accurate. But in real situations where you are shooting at a moving target, you really cannot use that sort of precision with unguided missile. (Also the fact that I had to check game files what's the difference between those says something). In SE2 I do not see any difference in rocket launcher behavior and I hope that SE2 will have something better to offer in every mechanic of the game.

What would be fun to play with

  • Rocket Launcher with ballistics
  • Laser guided missile launcher

Both of these concepts have proven to be fun in many sorts of games. Getting the right shot with RPG from a distance is always very satisfying. Laser guided missile would also fit SE2 well considering it would be used on fast moving flying vehicles. Currently shooting those with unguided rocket is extremely hard, making rocket launcher obsolete for such targets.

Adding ballistics to an unguided rocket wouldn't propably be so hard? You just need to add 1 acceleration vector (gravity) to rocket kinematics.

I would also like to point out that current rocket launcher is boring to play with.
