Grid inventory behavior while creating components

While building components using the MMS Mammoth, I noticed an odd behavior with the grid's inventory and the powered down Sledge ship that you get during the missions. The sledge was docked to one of the connectors in the side docking bays.

When constructing large amounts of components (1000, 2000, 4000 or more), the various production blocks (Smelter, Assembler, Refinery, Fabricator) became full and moved their inventory to other blocks. Instead of filling the 4 large (tier 3) storage containers first, it filled one of the Connectors on the MMS Mammoth grid first. This is in spite of there being a stack of the same components already in the large storage containers.

Then, unexpectedly, it filled the connectors and containers on the powered down sledge. Finally, once all those were full, it switches to filling the large storage containers on the grid starting with the existing stack - but I'm not sure if that was due to the ordering of the construction of the large containers or the presence of the stack.

This behavior was very evident when I was building the large quantity of Heavy-Duty Plates needed to cover the ship in a layer of heavy armor. I kept having to go to the sledge to drag across the completed components after the construction finished processing, then searching the inventories of the MMS Mammoth to grab the other stacks that didn't make it to the main one.

Not sure if this is a bug or expected behavior, but I thought that I would mention it in case it needs investigation later as the game nears completion.

In other words, this is a bug or behavior that I can live with for the time being. It is just a small nuisance.
