Where is the silicon?

We can't extract silicon.
Even if we find a vein, it's as small as a sesame seed and we can't extract even 1 kg.
We can't find any sand at all.
On the other hand, we're extracting so much nickel it's becoming a nuisance.
Couldn't you increase the amount of iron instead of nickel?
