Bases dissappear after completing contract
Submitted
After completing the "Renegade" contract, last one in Verdure sector, the base just disappeared as I was grinding it down for resources immediately after completion. I have noticed that previously found "Unknown Signal" based disappear as well on subsequent visits. And other contracts, like Salvage Yard, also disappeared upon revisit for the ship two days later. The ships related to contracts remain, but the bases are gone. If this is an intended game mechanic, seems pretty unrealistic.

I have the same bug
The base disappeared by itself without attempting to grind it down. After returning from renegade base I just found empty caverns where the base was.

Same here, half of the base just vanished in front of me, leaving just empty caves. At first I thought it was a visual glitch, but no, grid was gone. I guess the garbage collector just removed it. Contract related grid is removed.

Agree, the garbage collection should at least wait until you leave the area before deleting anything (including if you 'steal' salvage ships and the like (such as the scrapped hydrogen ship) and if you're determined to take the components it should let you. If it's a case where you're trying to dismantle a 'friendly' base after doing the mission, I would assume (hope) that in the future we have some sort of faction/reputation penalty for grinding down friendly bases you're trying to fix or help 'colonize'.

I've also seen this happen immediately after completing a contract, when trying to take things from containers not destroy them, and I also hope it's replaced with either reputation penalties, fines, or retroactively cancelling contract completion and failing the contract.
Not sure if things you were allowed to 'borrow' during the contract (items in containers) should count as stealing from them after the fact, though. If it does count as stealing after the contract ends, perhaps an efficiency/using-your-own-materials bonus (for leaving behind/not using materials they were willing to use during the contract) should be paid out.
