Transferring items to a Welder 3.5 m returns them back to platform container

I drag and drop items from the starter platform to a small ship with welders (similar to the bullfrog welder ship), connected through a Connector 1.5 m, and it sometimes stores items on the welder, which say that have 16.80t of storage, but most of the time it automatically brings those items back to the starter platform leaving the welder empty.
