Excavation Site Battery Bugged

The very first battery that you come to in the excavation site, that needs to be repaired, won't clear from the objectives list.
I welded it fully yet it's still marked as an objective.
I completed ALL other objectives and it still will not clear.
I cannot turn in the contract.
I have tried every trick that I can think of to get it to clear, grinding it down to almost zero and welding it back up, pulling the power core and replacing it, exiting the game and reloading and none of that has worked.
My game is a brand new start, completely vanilla, survival from the beginning, no mods, EVER.
