Carried ship "fights" direction of travel if left enabled

I understands why this is happening (dampeners on), but would be nice if the attached ship would be helping the user controlled thrust, instead of resisting it. E.g. lifting a heavy load off the planet, platform with hydrogen thrusters, miner with atmospheric thrusters
